Chicago Blackhawks vs Carolina Hurricanes Picks and Prediction for Saturday November 7 2026
Chicago heads to Raleigh on Saturday night for an 8 PM ET game against Carolina at Lenovo Center. This is a tough spot for the Blackhawks. They just lost 4-1 to Tampa Bay, and now they get a Hurricanes team that’s been winning just about everything. Carolina beat the Islanders 5-3 Thursday, and the Hurricanes have been one of the best teams in hockey. The moneyline price is going to be ugly, but I don’t see a good reason to pick Chicago here. Chicago Blackhawks Can’t Keep the Puck Out of Their Net
Chicago is 4-12-1 after losing to Tampa Bay on Thursday. That’s five straight losses, and the Blackhawks have been outscored badly during that stretch. They lost 5-2 to Colorado, 5-3 to Florida, and 4-1 to Tampa Bay in their last three games. That’s 14 goals allowed in three outings. Not good.
The Blackhawks have scored only 37 goals through 17 games, averaging 2.18 per night. They’ve allowed 67, which works out to 3.94 against. That’s one of the worst goal differentials in the league. Chicago has been struggling to generate enough offense, and the defense has been making life even harder. Against Carolina, that’s a terrible combination.
The Blackhawks have also been winless on the road, going 0-7-1 away from home. That’s a pretty ugly number heading into Raleigh. Chicago needs a much better defensive effort than it’s been getting, but the Hurricanes are exactly the kind of team that can make those problems worse. The Blackhawks have been spending too much time chasing the puck, and I don’t see that changing much Saturday.

Carolina Hurricanes Have Been Rolling
Carolina is 13-3-2 after beating the Islanders 5-3 on Thursday. The Hurricanes have been getting results against just about everybody, and they’ve been doing it with a pretty good mix of offense and defense. Carolina already beat Chicago 5-2 earlier this season, so the Blackhawks know what they’re walking into.
The Hurricanes have scored 69 goals through 18 games, averaging 3.83 per night. They’ve allowed only 43, or 2.39 per game. That’s an outstanding difference. Carolina has been controlling games, generating plenty of shots, and making opponents work for every decent scoring opportunity. Chicago has been allowing almost four goals a night. That’s a matchup Carolina should be able to exploit.
What I like about the Hurricanes is that they don’t need a perfect game to win. They can score four or five, but they can also defend well enough to win when the offense has a quieter night. Against Chicago, I’d expect Carolina to spend a lot of time in the offensive zone. The Blackhawks have been struggling to get the puck out cleanly, and that’s a dangerous problem against this team.
Chicago Blackhawks vs Carolina Hurricanes Picks and Prediction
Moneyline Pick: Carolina Hurricanes
I’m taking Carolina. The price is going to be expensive, and I wouldn’t lay a ridiculous number without considering the puck line. But the Hurricanes have been better in just about every important category. They’re scoring 3.83 goals per game, allowing only 2.39, and they’ve already beaten Chicago by three. The Blackhawks are winless on the road and giving up almost four goals a night. I don’t see much of an argument for Chicago unless Carolina has a terrible shooting night. Give me the Hurricanes.
Total Pick: Over 5.5 Goals
I’ll take the over 5.5 if that’s the number. Carolina could get four or five goals by itself against this Chicago defense. The Blackhawks have allowed 67 goals in 17 games, and the Hurricanes are averaging nearly four a night. The concern is Chicago’s offense. If the Blackhawks get shut out or score only once, we’re asking Carolina to do almost all the work. But Carolina already scored five in the first meeting, and I think the Hurricanes get enough offense to push this past five goals.
Final Picks: Carolina Hurricanes Moneyline | Over 5.5 Goals (if available)
