Blackhawks Preview
Chicagoโs attack has been slightly above average, with a goals-for of 2.5 per game. Teuvo Teravainen is leading the way at five points through four contests. Connor Bedard continues to drive the attack with two goals, including one on the power play. The Blackhawks have struggled to maintain offensive pressure, however, generating just 19.8 shots per game โ one of the lowest marks in the league. That lack of puck possession has forced the goaltenders to work harder. Despite that, Spencer Knight has been solid with a .920 save percentage and 2.35 goals-against average. Special teams remain a concern, as Chicagoโs power play is converting at just 15.4%, while the penalty kill is at 80%.
Blues Preview
St. Louis, coming off a strong road win in Vancouver, has looked strong across all lines. Jake Neighbours leads the team with three goals, and the Blues are averaging 3.0 goals per game on nearly 30 shots. The power play has been an early bright spot, converting 22.2% of the time, which gives them an edge over Chicago. Jordan Binnington and Joel Hofer have split starts effectively, with Hofer posting a .931 save percentage and 2.00 GAA. St. Louis is limiting opponents to 26.3 shots per game, a strong indicator of defensive toughness and puck possession on attack.
Blackhawks vs Blues Pick
Injuries play a small role here. Chicago remains without Landon Slaggert and Joey Anderson, while the Blues are missing a few forwards, including Milan Lucic and Alexey Toropchenko. That said, St. Louisโ top lines remain intact, and the forecheck has been especially strong through the first three games. The Bluesโ ability to generate scoring behind Neighbours and Jordan Kyrou gives them an advantage against the still-developing Blackhawks.

St. Louis is more effective on the power play and penalty kill, steadier in goal, and able to control possession. Chicagoโs young forwards have talent, but shots on goal have been an issue, and the reliance on Knight and Bedard gives the Blackhawks fewer options. Expect St. Louis to dictate the pace and keep Chicago on its heels.
Final Prediction: St. Louis Blues 4, Chicago Blackhawks 2
