Florida Panthers vs Boston Bruins Picks and Prediction for Sunday November 8 2026
Florida heads to Boston on Sunday afternoon for a 1 PM ET game against the Bruins at TD Garden. Boston is a modest moneyline favorite, around -135, with the total listed at 5.5 goals. The Panthers have been playing good hockey, but this is a difficult spot. Florida has Washington on Saturday, then has to travel to Boston for an afternoon game. The Bruins have had a couple of days to prepare. That rest advantage is a pretty big deal, especially with Florida missing some important players. Florida Panthers Have Been Getting Results Despite the Injuries
Florida is 9-5-2, including a 5-3-2 road record, heading into Saturday’s game at Washington. The Panthers beat Chicago 5-3 on Wednesday and have won three of their last four completed games. They’ve been doing a good job finding enough offense to win, even though the lineup isn’t nearly as healthy as they’d like.
Florida is averaging about 3.25 goals per game and allowing 2.94. Those are solid numbers. The Panthers have also been converting around 24% of their power-play opportunities, which gives them another way to score when the five-on-five offense isn’t clicking. The defense has been respectable, but Boston has been scoring better than three and a half goals a night. That’s going to be a challenge.
The biggest issue is availability. Aleksander Barkov and Brad Marchand remain out with knee injuries, while Jonah Gadjovich is unavailable following upper-body surgery. Those aren’t small losses. Florida is missing experience, offensive production, and some of the physical play that makes it difficult to face. The Panthers have been handling those absences reasonably well, but doing it on consecutive afternoons against Washington and Boston is asking quite a bit.

Boston Bruins Have Been Excellent at Home
Boston is 12-4-1 after beating Pittsburgh 6-2 on Thursday. The Bruins have won three straight, including victories over Vegas and Chicago. They’ve also been outstanding at TD Garden, where they’re 7-1. That’s the first thing I look at in this matchup. Boston has been taking care of business in its own building, and now it gets a Florida team playing on short rest.
The Bruins are averaging approximately 3.7 goals and allowing only 2.4 per game. That’s a strong combination. Boston hasn’t needed to turn every game into a shootout because the defensive work has been good enough to protect leads. The Bruins are also getting plenty of offensive opportunities, even without dominating the shot count every night.
Matthew Poitras and James Hagens have been dealing with day-to-day injuries, but Boston’s availability situation is considerably better than Florida’s. The Bruins have been getting enough scoring throughout the lineup to overcome the occasional quiet night. More importantly, they’ve been keeping opponents from generating too many clean chances. Against a short-handed Florida club, that’s an advantage I like.
Florida Panthers vs Boston Bruins Picks and Prediction
Moneyline Pick: Boston Bruins (-135)
I’m taking Boston. Florida is a good team, and I wouldn’t be surprised if the Panthers make this a close game. They’ve been winning despite the injuries, and that deserves some respect. But Boston is 7-1 at home, allowing only about 2.4 goals a night, and gets the better rest situation. Florida has to play Saturday, travel, and come back for a 1 PM start. That’s a rough assignment. At a price around -135, I’ll take the Bruins.
Total Pick: Under 5.5 Goals
Give me the under 5.5. Boston’s defense has been excellent, and Florida has been playing reasonably well in its own zone. The Panthers are also missing some important offensive production. I can see Boston getting three goals and Florida struggling to get more than one or two. The danger is Boston’s offense, because the Bruins just put six on Pittsburgh. But I think this is a tighter game than that one. Something like 3-2 makes sense.
Final Picks: Boston Bruins Moneyline (-135) | Under 5.5 Goals
