The Florida Panthers head to the Prudential Center to take on the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 PM, and the game will be televised on TNT. At the time of this writing, the odds were not released. For more insight on tonight’s NHL action, be sure to check out our latest free NHL picks for additional analysis and predictions.

Panthers Looking to Rebound on the Road

Florida enters this matchup with a 30-27-3 overall record and a 14-13-0 mark on the road. The Panthers have been up and down recently, recently losing to the Islanders 5-4 and Buffalo 3-2, but picking up a 5-1 win over Toronto and a 5-4 shootout victory against Boston. They also dropped a 6-1 decision at Tampa Bay. Consistency has been an issue, but the offense has shown it can explode at times.

The Panthers are averaging 3.00 goals per game while allowing 3.29 goals against per contest. They generate 29.2 shots per game and give up just 26.1 shots per game, which suggests their defensive structure is not as poor as the goals against number indicates. Special teams have been mixed, with 42 power play goals and a 19.4% conversion rate.

Defensively on special teams, Florida has allowed 37 power play goals but maintains a solid 82.1% penalty kill. One impressive stat is that they have not allowed a shorthanded goal all season. If Florida can tighten up defensively at even strength, they have enough scoring depth to compete in this one.

Devils Searching for Offensive Spark

New Jersey comes in at 29-29-2 overall and 13-13-2 at home. The Devils recently earned a 3-1 win at St. Louis but have struggled otherwise, losing to Pittsburgh 4-1, Buffalo 2-1, the Islanders 3-1, and Columbus 3-0. Offensive production has been difficult to find during this stretch.

The Devils are averaging just 2.47 goals per game while allowing 3.03 goals against. They do generate 29.4 shots per game and limit opponents to 27.9 shots, but finishing chances has been the main issue. On the power play, New Jersey has scored 31 goals with a 20.3% success rate.

Their penalty kill sits at 79.6%, having allowed 31 power play goals. Like Florida, they have not given up a shorthanded goal. The Devils will need stronger offensive execution at even strength if they want to keep pace with a Florida team capable of putting up goals in bunches.

Florida Panthers vs New Jersey Devils Pick

Florida Panthers vs New Jersey Devils Pick

  • Pick: Florida Panthers Moneyline

Florida has been the more explosive offensive team this season and faces a Devils squad that has struggled to score consistently. While New Jersey plays solid defensive hockey at times, their inability to generate goals is concerning. I believe Florida’s scoring depth gives them the edge.

Florida Panthers vs New Jersey Devils Total Pick

  • Pick: Under (if total is set at 6 or 6.5)

New Jersey’s games have leaned toward lower-scoring affairs due to their offensive struggles. While Florida can score, they also limit shots fairly well. I see this being a tighter, more structured game than expected, especially if the Devils dictate pace at home. I’m leaning toward a lower total here.

Final Score Prediction: Panthers 3, Devils 2

This prediction was written before the completion of game play on Monday.
