The Winnipeg Jets return home to Canada Life Centre riding a three-game win streak, aiming to keep that momentum rolling against the visiting Nashville Predators. The opening faceoff is set for 7:00 PM ET, and the game will be broadcast on ESPN+. Both Central Division clubs have opened the season strongly, with the Jets sitting at 3-1-0 and Nashville battling through a few overtime setbacks to stand at 2-1-2. Ice cold takes, red hot wins — check our daily NHL picks.
Predators Preview
Nashville has been competitive despite some tight losses, and Juuse Saros continues to be the backbone of the team’s early success. Saros enters with a strong 1.94 goals-against average and a .935 save percentage, numbers that have kept the Predators in every game. Nashville’s 2.80 goals per game display a capable attack, though the number of shots remains a concern at just 26 per game.
Roman Josi continues to be the playmaker with three assists, while Erik Haula leads the club with four points and two goals. The penalty kill has been sharp at 93.3%, a mark that could help them, especially in close games on the road. The Predators’ challenge is sustaining its offense against a deeper, more balanced Jets club.
Jets Preview
Winnipeg, meanwhile, has found an early balance between offensive firepower and improved defensive play. Mark Scheifele has come out blazing with eight points and five goals through four games, while Kyle Connor’s playmaking has already produced four assists, including two on the power play. The Jets are scoring at a clip of 4.25 goals per game and converting on 25% of their power plays, both excellent rates through the first two weeks.
Connor Hellebuyck’s 3.02 GAA and .895 save percentage are slightly inflated due to a high number of shots on goal, but backup Eric Comrie has given Winnipeg flexibility with a 2.00 GAA and .943 SV%. If the Jets continue generating quick-strike offense while maintaining penalty kill effectiveness, currently at 94.4%, they’ll be tough to slow down at home.
Jets vs Predators Pick
The advanced indicators favor Winnipeg in puck possession and special teams performance. Nashville’s solid goaltending could neutralize the Jets early, but Winnipeg’s superior shot quality and home scoring will favor the Jets. Expect a competitive first period before the Jets’ depth takes over.
Prediction: Winnipeg Jets 4, Nashville Predators 2
