New Jersey split road games against Carolina and Tampa Bay, scoring six goals across those contests but surrendering nine. Columbus, meanwhile, opened with a tough 2-1 loss in Nashville before bouncing back to beat Minnesota 7-4 in a high-scoring road win. The Devils enter as slight favorites. Columbus has been more balanced through two games, showing strong play in front of goal. Kirill Marchenko has started hot with three goals, including one on the power play, while Zach Werenski has provided two assists from the blue line. Between the pipes, Elvis Merzlikins and Jet Greaves have split duties with solid numbers: Merzlikins owns a .923 save percentage, and Greaves sits at .938 despite taking a loss. Columbus hasn’t faced many defensive breakdowns yet, and the clean injury sheet gives them a continuity advantage at home.
