Leg 1 – Florida Panthers vs Dallas Stars

Dallas continues to be one of the most complete teams in the NHL, sitting at 21-6-5 and owning a strong 10-4-1 home record. The Stars are allowing just 2.59 goals per game, and Jake Oettinger gives them a clear edge in net with a 2.51 GAA compared to Sergei Bobrovsky’s inconsistency this season.

Florida comes into this matchup banged up, with Matthew Tkachuk still sidelined, and the Panthers have struggled away from home at 5-7-0. Defensively, Florida is allowing 3.27 goals per game, which is a problem against a Dallas team that ranks among the league’s best on the power play (33% conversion rate).

San Jose has been competitive at times, but their defensive issues remain glaring. The Sharks allow 31.3 shots per game and give up 3.25 goals per game, which is a dangerous combination against a Penguins team that thrives on puck possession and special teams.

Pittsburgh holds a major advantage on the power play (31.2%) and has been far more consistent at home. Even with injuries, Sidney Crosby continues to anchor the offense, and the Penguins’ defensive numbers (2.76 GAA) are significantly better than San Jose’s.
