San Jose Sharks vs Boston Bruins Picks and Predictions for Saturday October 24 2026

By: Kim Smith Published 10/24/2026, 12:35 AM ET

San Jose just beat Ottawa 6-2, and Boston just beat Nashville 6-0. Apparently neither team felt like wasting much time Thursday night. The difference is how those games happened. Boston controlled Nashville from start to finish. San Jose needed Yaroslav Askarov to make 41 saves against the Senators. The Sharks won by four, but Ottawa actually put 43 shots on goal. That’s the kind of thing that gets my attention when the next opponent is Boston.

The Sharks visit the Bruins at TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts, on Saturday, October 24, 2026. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 PM ET, with NESN and NBC Sports California carrying regional coverage. Boston is favored around -154, with San Jose at +147. The total is listed at 6.5 goals. San Jose Sharks Are Making Some Noise

San Jose is 6-4-1 after beating Ottawa 6-2 Thursday. The Sharks have won two straight, including a 4-3 overtime victory in Montreal on Tuesday. That’s a nice little stretch for a team that had been inconsistent early. The win over Ottawa was especially impressive on the scoreboard, although the game was closer than the final score suggests.

The Sharks were outshot 43-28 by the Senators, including 17-6 in the third period. Askarov kept turning shots away, and San Jose scored twice into an empty net late. The Sharks have averaged 2.91 goals while allowing 3.27 per game this season. That’s not a defensive profile I love against Boston. San Jose has been better on the road than many expected, going 4-2-1, but the Bruins are a tougher opponent than most.

Macklin Celebrini has five goals and 14 points this season, and he’s the player Boston has to watch whenever San Jose gets possession. Collin Graf and Jacob Trouba each had a goal and an assist Thursday, while Tyler Toffoli scored on the power play. Askarov’s 41-save performance was the difference. Alexander Wennberg, Quentin Musty, Kyle Keyser and Igor Chernyshov are on the injury list. San Jose has some talent, but it can’t expect its goalie to stop 41 shots every night.

Boston Bruins Are Playing Some Pretty Good Hockey

Boston is 8-2-1 after beating Nashville 6-0 Thursday. The Bruins have earned points in seven straight games, going 6-0-1 during that stretch. They’ve also been strong at TD Garden, winning four of their first five home games. Nashville didn’t give them much trouble, and Boston scored twice in every period.

The Bruins are averaging 3.82 goals while allowing just 2.00 per game. That’s a terrific combination. They’re scoring plenty and keeping opponents from getting comfortable around their net. Boston already beat San Jose 6-3 earlier this month, and the Bruins should remember how to attack this defense. The Sharks can score, but they’ve also allowed enough goals that Boston’s top forwards ought to get their chances.

David Pastrnak had two goals and two assists against Nashville. Charlie McAvoy collected four assists, while Michael DiPietro made 28 saves for his first NHL shutout. Casey Mittelstadt, Elias Lindholm, JJ Peterka and Mark Kastelic also scored. Jeremy Swayman has been excellent this season, with six wins and a .928 save percentage. Boston doesn’t have any major injuries listed heading into Saturday. That’s a nice advantage over a San Jose team finishing a long road trip.

San Jose Sharks vs Boston Bruins Picks and Predictions

Boston Bruins Moneyline (-154)

I’ll take Boston. San Jose deserves credit for winning in Ottawa, and Celebrini is good enough to cause problems for anybody. But the Sharks gave up 43 shots Thursday. Do that against Pastrnak and the Bruins, and you’re asking for trouble. Boston has been playing terrific hockey, already beat San Jose by three goals this season, and has home ice. I’ll lay the -154.

Over 6.5 Goals — Price Pending

I’m leaning over 6.5, although I want a fair price before betting it. Boston scored six Thursday, San Jose scored six, and the Bruins won the first meeting 6-3. That doesn’t mean another nine-goal game is coming, but San Jose has been giving opponents plenty of chances. The under argument is Swayman. If he’s sharp and Boston controls the game, the Sharks might not contribute much. I’ll call it Boston 5, San Jose 2 and take the over at a reasonable number.

Final Picks: Boston Bruins Moneyline (-154) and Over 6.5 Goals (price pending)
