The Kraken are 3-1-2 on the season and coming off a thrilling 4-3 overtime win against Toronto. Their offense has been steadily improving, but their defense remains inconsistent. With Philipp Grubauer expected in goal, Seattle needs a strong performance to slow down a hungry Capitals team.

Seattle’s top scorers are starting to find their rhythm, but they’ve struggled in net, especially compared to Thompson’s stability for the Caps. The Kraken have also had trouble closing games out in regulation, shown by their two overtime decisions already this season. Staying disciplined and minimizing turnovers will be key if they hope to pull off a win in Washington.

Capitals Preview

Washington enters this matchup 4-2-0 and sitting fourth in the Metropolitan Division. The Capitals dropped their last game 4-3 to Vancouver but have looked sharp through most of October. Logan Thompson is expected to start in net and has been excellent with a 1.76 GAA and .922 save percentage. Washington will aim to bounce back and protect home ice.

The Capitals have more depth, and their goaltending advantage could make the difference in this matchup. Seattle’s injuries on the back end, including Ryker Evans and Frederick Gaudreau on IR, make them vulnerable against a team with solid forward depth. If Washington can get production from all four lines, they’ll be tough to beat.
