Tampa Bay Lightning vs Nashville Predators Picks and Predictions for Saturday October 31 2026
Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Nashville Predators Best Bet
Tampa Bay heads into Nashville on Saturday afternoon after beating Winnipeg 6-4 on Thursday. The Lightning are 8-3-1 and have scored 44 goals in twelve games. That’s a pretty good offense. Nikita Kucherov has four goals and eleven assists, while Brandon Hagel has put up eight goals and six assists over his last ten games. But there’s something about Tampa Bay I don’t love. The Lightning are only 2-3-1 away from home, and they’ve allowed 38 goals this season. They can score, but they haven’t exactly been shutting everybody down.
Nashville is 4-4-5 after losing 4-3 to Washington on Thursday. That’s five overtime or shootout losses already. The Predators have been hanging around in games without finding ways to finish them. Steven Stamkos has seven goals and eight assists, and Ryan O’Reilly has seven goals in his last ten games. Nashville also beat Colorado 6-2 earlier in the week. So this isn’t some hopeless team waiting to get blown out. The Predators can make things difficult, especially at Bridgestone Arena. Get ready for all the action with our free NHL picks.
Here’s what bothers me about Nashville. The Predators are averaging only 2.8 goals on 25.7 shots per game. Tampa Bay is putting up 3.7 goals on 30.4 shots. That’s a pretty noticeable difference. Nashville can hang around for forty minutes, but sooner or later it needs to generate some offense of its own. Tampa Bay has scored at least four goals in four of its last five games. I don’t particularly like Nashville’s chances of keeping up if this turns into another 4-3 or 5-3 kind of afternoon.
Best Bet: Tampa Bay Lightning Moneyline (-157 or Better)
I’m taking Tampa Bay, but I’m not going to pretend the Lightning are unbeatable. They’ve already lost road games to Colorado and the Rangers, and Nashville has enough offense to cause trouble if Stamkos gets a few good looks. The Lightning’s defensive numbers aren’t anything special, either. Still, Tampa Bay is 7-2-1 over its last ten games, while Nashville has managed just three wins over that stretch. The Lightning are creating more shots, scoring more goals, and have been doing a better job turning close games into victories. That’s enough for me. I’ll take Tampa Bay at -157, but I wouldn’t chase this thing to -180.
