Vegas improved to 2-1 with a convincing 6-2 victory at Seattle Tuesday. The Golden Knights controlled the game offensively and produced the type of scoring depth that makes them difficult to handle at home.
Thursday’s matchup also sets up well stylistically. Toronto has already shown defensive vulnerability, while Vegas enters with an offense capable of attacking mistakes immediately.
Home ice pushes the matchup further toward the Golden Knights. Toronto has enough offensive ability to keep this interesting, but Vegas has been the more complete team through the opening week.

Vegas is my side pick. Toronto’s comeback against Nashville was impressive, but falling behind 3-0 and allowing four goals isn’t a formula I’d want to repeat at T-Mobile Arena. Vegas just scored six against Seattle and enters at 2-1. With the Golden Knights at home and showing the better early balance between offense and defense, I’ll back Vegas rather than asking Toronto to produce another dramatic comeback.
Pick: Over 6.5 Goals
The Over 6.5 is the total pick. Toronto’s Tuesday game produced nine goals, while Vegas just combined with Seattle for eight. Both offenses showed considerable upside in those performances, and Toronto’s defensive issues create opportunities for Vegas to put four or five on the board. The Maple Leafs should contribute enough offensively to push this beyond six.
