Winnipeg Jets vs Florida Panthers Picks and Predictions for Friday October 30 2026
Florida just went into Winnipeg and beat the Jets 5-1 Tuesday night. Now the Panthers get to play them again, this time at home. And here’s the part I really don’t like if I’m Winnipeg. The Jets have Tampa Bay on Thursday before heading to Sunrise for Friday’s game. That’s two tough opponents in two nights, and the Jets have already been having trouble scoring. I don’t see this getting any easier for them.
Winnipeg visits Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, Florida, Friday at 7:00 PM ET. The Panthers are around -194 on the moneyline, with the total at 5.5. Florida is the obvious favorite, but I think there’s a good reason for that price. The Panthers have been playing better hockey, and Winnipeg is in a rough spot. I’m taking Florida to win and leaning Under. Get prepared for all the NHL games with our free NHL picks.
Winnipeg Jets Have Been Stuck in a Bad Stretch
Winnipeg is 4-4-3 heading into Thursday’s game against Tampa Bay. The Jets haven’t won since October 13, when they beat Minnesota 5-2. That’s six straight games without a win. Tuesday’s 5-1 loss to Florida was another rough one. The Panthers scored three times in the first period, and Winnipeg never really recovered. The Jets have been losing close games, but this one wasn’t close enough to make anybody feel better.
Winnipeg is scoring only about 2.45 goals a game and allowing 2.82. The defense hasn’t been terrible, but the offense has been a problem. The Jets have scored more than three goals just once this season. That’s not going to win many games, especially when you’re playing teams like Florida and Tampa Bay. The power play has gone cold too, going 0-for-14 over the last five games. When you’re struggling to score at even strength, you need those power-play chances. Winnipeg hasn’t been taking advantage.

The Jets are missing Josh Morrissey, who’s been out with an upper-body injury since October 7. That’s a big loss on defense and the power play. Nick Bjugstad is also out with a pectoral injury, and Vladislav Namestnikov has been unavailable. Winnipeg needs more offense from somewhere, but I don’t know where it’s coming from right now. And playing Thursday in Tampa before facing Florida Friday isn’t going to help the legs.
Florida Panthers Have Been Getting Their Offense Going
Florida is 6-4-2, and the Panthers have won two straight after dropping the first two games of their road trip. Tuesday’s 5-1 win over Winnipeg was exactly what they needed. Florida scored three power-play goals, jumped ahead early and never gave the Jets much of a chance to get back into it. That’s the kind of game the Panthers have been looking for. They don’t need to score five every night, but when the power play is working like that, they’re tough to beat.
The Panthers are averaging 2.83 goals and allowing three a game. Those numbers aren’t overwhelming, but Florida has been getting better offensively. The power play has scored 13 goals over the last eight games, which is a huge improvement. The penalty kill has been solid too, sitting around 85 percent. Winnipeg’s power play has been struggling, so I like Florida’s chances of keeping the Jets quiet again. The Panthers don’t need to dominate every shift. They just need to avoid giving Winnipeg easy chances.
Florida has injuries of its own. Aleksander Barkov is out with a lower-body injury, Brad Marchand has a leg problem, and Jacob Markstrom is unavailable with an upper-body injury. Jonah Gadjovich is also out. That’s a lot of missing experience. But the Panthers have been finding ways to win without those players, and Tuesday showed they can still score against Winnipeg. Florida should have the fresher legs Friday, and that’s a big advantage.
Winnipeg Jets vs Florida Panthers Picks and Predictions
Florida Panthers Moneyline (-194)
I’m taking Florida. The Panthers just beat Winnipeg 5-1, and now they get the Jets on the second night of a back-to-back. That’s a pretty good setup. Winnipeg hasn’t won in six games, the offense has been struggling, and the power play has gone cold. Florida has been getting better offensively, especially with the extra man. The price is expensive, and that’s the one thing I don’t love. At -194, you’re not getting much value if the Panthers win a close one. But I still think Florida is the right side. The Jets haven’t shown me enough offense to trust them in this spot.
Under 5.5 Goals (+108)
I’m taking Under 5.5, and I know that sounds a little strange after Florida just scored five against Winnipeg. But the Jets have been struggling to score, and I don’t expect them to suddenly find four goals Friday. Florida doesn’t need to push the pace if it gets ahead. The Panthers can play a controlled game, keep Winnipeg away from the net and make the Jets work for every chance. The danger is Florida’s power play getting hot again. Three power-play goals Tuesday helped push that game to six. But I think Winnipeg will be more careful with penalties this time. Something like Florida 3-1 makes sense to me.
Final Picks: Florida Panthers Moneyline (-194) and Under 5.5 Goals (+108)
