| NHL | (51) Detroit Red Wings at (52) Edmonton Oilers | 9:07pm EST - Dec 11/2025 |
The PLAY: Edmonton Oilers -1.5 (+130)
Last night, the Red Wings defeated the Flames 4-3, at Calgary. Detroit got up 4-0 but the Flames scored three in the third period to “make things interesting.” Tonight, the Wings face a tougher opponent, as they'll take on the rested and revenge-minded Oilers. Winning back to back games in the province of Alberta is rarely easy. Also, Edmonton is better than Calgary. In this case, the Wings catch the Oilers off a loss. Between that loss and an earlier one at Detroit, Edmonton should be highly motivated. Rather than lay the expensive price on money-line, I'll take advantage of the underdog price that comes with the puck-line. Of course, the money-line has the greater likelihood of cashing. However, Edmonton's last four victories were all decisive with scores of 6-2, 9-4, 4-0 and 6-3. Lately, when the Oilers have been winning, they've been “winning big.” Given the setup, I like their chances of also winning this one by two or more goals.
