It sure looks like Craig is a bust at QB for TCU.

Leonie Fiebich absolutely smashed this line in Game 1 of this series as she recorded 11 RA on 4 potential assists across 34 minutes of play. Fiebich is now covered this line in each of the last five head-to-head games against the Minnesota Lynx including a perfect 3/3 in 2026 with 11, 7 & 7 RA for an average of 8.3 RA on 5.3 potential assist per game. The Lynx allowed the MOST assists from above-the-break and that area accounts for 38% of Fiebich's dimes in 2026. In two games with Jameis Winston behind center, the Giants have scored a grand total of zero touchdowns.  New York managed to steal a ‘four field goals was good enough’ win last Sunday, but it’s surely worth noting that the G-men are just 1-7 SU/ATS in their last eight tries off a single victory; not a team stringing good performances together.  The season ending injury to stud pass rusher Brian Burns won’t help matters, especially given the Cardinals propensity for grinding out first downs. Arizona had nearly 39 minutes of possession last week while hanging 30 points on the 49ers.  The early week sharp $$ has shown on the road team for good reason! In this near pick ‘em pointspread range, my experience has shown that it’s preferrable to take Arizona on the moneyline – a SU win ensures we get paid. Take the Cardinals.

Alex Bregman Hits + Runs + RBIs Over 1.5 (118) Home Listed Pitcher Must Start:

Alex Bregman is a veteran player with plenty of postseason experience, so he won't be intimidated by this spot while playing a West coast game on the road. Bregman has been nearly perfect against Michael King as he's gone 7-8 (.875) against him with two doubles and two free passes. King was a very strong option for the Padres in 2026, but he hasn't been in the greatest form with 10 earned runs allowed across his 17 innings of work. Bregman is a right-handed slugger who has actually held his own against righties while posting a .260 batting average and .799 OPS. The Cubs third baseman has plenty of experience against San Diego pitching while batting .347 with three home runs across 93 plate appearances. Bregman was hit in the face with a foul ball a little over a week ago, but he seems to be fully healthy after going 4-4 with two home runs and a double in his final regular season game.

Word from the Pentagon is that Navy might have some problems hanging onto the Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy for a third straight season if it can’t get QB Braxton Woodson (out recently with an ankle sprain) back to active duty. Though Woodson entered 2026 with limited work in the past, he was Brian Newberry’s preferred choice to run Drew Cronic’s unique option-with-Wing T elements because of his explosive running ability, which were on display in early games vs. Towson and Florida Atlantic when Woodson would rank among the nation’s rush leaders with 296 yards and four TDs after just two weeks. Granted, backup Jackson Gutierrez has also displayed some pop, but last week’s loss at UAB was more than a bit sobering especially as the Midshipmen were uncharacteristically sloppy when losing two fumbles in Birmingham. Meanwhile, Troy Calhoun’s corresponding option at Air Force seems to be running at peak efficiency (interestingly also on 1,001 rushing yards, as is Navy, after three games) with a more-experienced pilot in Liam Szarka, who punished Nevada with 171 rushing yards in last week’s exciting OT win in Reno. Service academy rivalries usually prompt us to consider looking “under” (48-14-1 the past 21 years!) as the dueling options often keep the chains and clock moving, and on the average about 15-20 fewer plays from scrimmage than most other FBS, non-dueling option battles. Though the Navy-Air Force rivalry has been a little more lively than the other recent matchups involving Army, as the case last year’ in the Mids’ 34-31 win at Annapolis. Note that Szarka dazzled in that clash in one of his earliest starts, accounting for 364 yards and all four Falcon TDs (two rushing, two passing). If there’s an advantage either way at the remodelled Falcon Stadium, it’s probably him, even if Woodson returns to active duty this week for the Mids, though as usual our first reaction is to look "under" in Commander-in-Chief battles. Minnesota's Luck Factor is +2.3 compared with New York at -1.1, creating a substantial 3.4-point Luck Factor gap toward New York. With Luck Factor one of our most heavily weighted side metrics, that's significant.

The market has moved aggressively in the opposite direction. Minnesota was approximately -1.5 and is now around -3.5. That's about a two-point move, which is meaningful in the WNBA. There are no key numbers involved; we're simply evaluating the magnitude of the adjustment. Under our methodology, that strengthens the case for fading Minnesota.

New York also supplied direct matchup evidence by beating Minnesota 91-75 in Game 1. Breanna Stewart produced 34 points and 12 rebounds. New York has now beaten Minnesota in three of four meetings this season.

Minnesota obviously has a powerful motivational angle facing elimination, and that probably explains part of the market adjustment. But motivation doesn't automatically justify moving the spread roughly two points toward a team carrying the worse side of our Luck Factor regression signal and coming off a decisive loss in the matchup.

At +3.5, there is enough corroboration from Luck Factor, fading a substantial line move and head-to-head matchup performance for a Major. I would still play New York at +2.5.

Our top organic handicapper is UNDER 8.5 and will play 8 at -105. Houston finished with a pronounced Under profile, including only one OVER in its most recent five-game sample.

Houston is also approaching Game 1 with a pitching plan designed around multiple innings from AJ Blubaugh followed by a rested relief corps. That makes the bullpen component considerably more attractive than simply treating this as a conventional start from an inexperienced pitcher.

At 8.5 this is the preferred number. UNDER 8 remains playable to -105.

New York won game 1 with a strong 2nd half, outscoring the Lynx 51-31. The Liberty shot the ball extremely well from distance at 52% while the Lynx were at 35%. Minnesota had the best road record in the WNBA at 18-4 this season. I don't look for them to go quietly this evening. Lay the points.

FREE PICK on Tampa Bay Buccaneers (ATS) | Good until +3.0.

It's been a bad opening three weeks for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, there's no doubt. But, HC Todd Bowles is right when he says that they are still just one game out of first in the division. To make matters worse, Baker Mayfield is out for at least a few weeks. I think that Jalon Daniels will be ready though. Green Bay still isn't at full strength by any means either. I like TB's chances of coming away with it's first win, even with how bad it's looked. Go with the Buccaneers.

Chicago starter Matthew Boyd projects to give up 2.8 runs with a 4.87 ERA and 1.49 WHIP.  San Diego’s lineup has hit a solid .312 (30-96) with a strong .835 OPS against Boyd in his career.  The Padres will start Michael King.  The righty projects to give up 2.3 earned runs with a 3.34 ERA and 1.19 WHIP.  With the starting pitching clearly in the San Diego’s favor, look for the Padres to get a solid home win in this game on Tuesday night.

Play: (EDM) Leon Draisaitl Anytime Goal (+110) at Fanduel

Leon Draisaitl enters Opening Night in an excellent spot against the Vancouver Canucks, a team he has consistently produced against throughout his career.

Draisaitl has scored a goal in five consecutive games against Vancouver and has found the back of the net in 12 of his last 17 meetings against the Canucks. His numbers have been especially strong in Edmonton, where he has scored in four of his last five home games against Vancouver.

The matchup becomes even more appealing because Draisaitl is expected to open the season on Edmonton’s top line alongside Connor McDavid. Playing next to the best playmaker in hockey gives Draisaitl plenty of opportunities to get quality looks, especially with his ability to finish from anywhere in the offensive zone.

He will also continue to play a major role on Edmonton’s top power-play unit, giving him another strong path to score against a Vancouver team that struggled badly defensively and on the penalty kill last season.

Between his elite offensive role, his opportunity alongside McDavid, his power-play usage and his dominant recent history against Vancouver, I like Leon Draisaitl to score anytime against the Canucks on Opening Night.

Play: (FLA) Brady Tkachuk Anytime Goal (+175) at Fanduel

Brady Tkachuk has made an immediate impact since joining the Florida Panthers, and he enters Opening Night in excellent scoring form. Tkachuk scored three goals in just two preseason games, with all three coming against this same Carolina Hurricanes team.

He scored twice in Florida’s 6-3 win over Carolina before finding the back of the net again in the rematch in Raleigh. Tkachuk also finished those two games with five total points, showing immediate chemistry alongside Aleksander Barkov and Sam Reinhart on Florida’s top line.

That combination puts Tkachuk in an excellent position to generate scoring chances. Barkov remains one of the NHL’s premier two-way centers and playmakers, while Reinhart gives Carolina another dangerous scoring threat to account for. Tkachuk should also continue seeing premium power-play opportunities, where his physical style and ability to create chances around the net become even more valuable.

Carolina is an excellent defensive team, so this certainly isn’t an easy matchup, but Tkachuk has already demonstrated that he can create offense against this exact opponent. With three goals in two preseason meetings against the Hurricanes, a top-line role beside Barkov and Reinhart, and significant power-play usage, I like Brady Tkachuk to find the back of the net on Opening Night.

Edmonton has scored 6+ goals in four of its last seven head-to-head meetings with Vancouver.

The moneyline is too expensive for my liking, so I’m taking some insurance in case this turns into a 4-3 type of game. I’m backing the Oilers to score at least 4 goals.

Edmonton had the NHL’s No. 1 power play last season, while Vancouver ranked last in goals allowed per game. That combination gives me confidence in the Oilers’ scoring potential.

I won with Arkansas last week. However, a home game against Tulsa is an entirely different ball game from a road game at Texas A&M. Off back-to-back losses, the Aggies are going to be in a foul mood. While the last couple were close, the Aggies have won nine of the past 10 meetings. I feel they're stronger on both sides of the ball and I expect them to pull away and win by more than two touchdowns. *good to -16

An opening night game between Canada's two "Original Six" teams is always exciting. Off last year's playoff run, expectations are higher for the Canadiens than they are for the Maple Leafs. I don't want to play against the Leafs on opening night though. Rather, let's focus on the total. Seven of the past 10 head-to-head meetings have finished below the total. Montreal's last visit here was 1-1 after regulation. The last five meetings have averaged 4.4 goals. Go with the under.
