I really like this matchup for the Denver Broncos, who enter Sunday riding a 4-game winning streak and sitting at 6–2. Denver has defeated the Chargers, Seahawks, Cardinals and Chiefs during that stretch, including an impressive 28–24 comeback victory over Kansas City last Sunday. Meanwhile, Carolina has lost 2 straight, including an embarrassing 43–13 defeat against Tampa Bay followed by a 27–19 loss at Green Bay. The Panthers have surrendered 70 points in their last 2 games and are allowing 27.6 points per contest this season!

One of my favorite advantages is Denver's ability to pressure the quarterback. The Broncos have recorded 23 sacks this season, ranking 4th in the NFL, while Carolina has just 11 sacks, ranking 28th. Here's a tremendous nugget: Bryce Young has been sacked 23 times in just 7 games, including 11 sacks over his last 2 contests! Meanwhile, Bo Nix has been sacked only 10 times in 8 games. Denver's defense is allowing 20.6 points per game, compared with Carolina's 27.6, and owns a +4 turnover differential. I expect this Broncos pass rush to give Young problems throughout the afternoon.

Carolina also has some significant injury concerns. Starting left guard Damien Lewis (knee), linebacker Bobby Okereke (foot) and pass rusher Jaelan Phillips (hamstring) all missed Wednesday's practice. Phillips has already missed the previous 2 games, while Lewis missed last week's loss to Green Bay. Reserve offensive linemen Corey Bullock and Torricelli Simpkins III were also limited with injuries. That's especially concerning against Denver's productive defensive front. Denver has injury concerns of its own, with safeties Talanoa Hufanga and Brandon Jones both missing Wednesday's practice, making their availability important to monitor.

Another reason I prefer the moneyline is the relatively modest game total of 43.5. Denver's offense hasn't been explosive, but with a solid defense, superior quarterback protection and an experienced head coach in Sean Payton, I don't need the Broncos to win comfortably. I simply need them to win the football game. Carolina has surrendered 70 points in its last 2 games, its quarterback continues to take far too many sacks, and the Panthers are dealing with injuries at several important positions. I trust Denver to make the necessary plays and come away with the road victory. I LIKE THE DENVER BRONCOS MONEYLINE AT -145!

I’m backing Winnipeg because of the difference in recovery and preparation time. Tampa Bay is playing its 3rd game in 4 days and its 2nd road game in 2 nights, moving from Minnesota to Winnipeg without a day off. I’m betting the scheduling advantage, not arguing that the Jets have been the better team this season.

Last night added to Tampa’s workload. The Lightning overcame a 3–1 third-period deficit to beat Minnesota 4–3 in overtime. They had to chase the game, finish the comeback and play extra hockey before preparing for another road opponent. That effort is part of my handicap, although a demanding win does not automatically mean a flat performance the following night.

The likely travel itinerary is the important part: finish the game in Saint Paul, complete postgame treatment and media obligations, take the team bus to Minneapolis–Saint Paul Airport, fly to Winnipeg, complete Canadian entry procedures and transfer to the hotel. An overnight departure could mean an early-Sunday hotel arrival, followed by meals, treatment, meetings and preparation for another game.

The published schedule allowed just 22 hours between Saturday’s 8:00 PM ET start and Sunday’s 6:00 PM ET start at Canada Life Centre. Those 22 hours include the entire first game, not 22 hours of rest after the final horn. Travel and pregame preparation further reduce the time available for recovery. This isn’t about a particularly long flight; it’s about fitting everything into a short turnaround.

Winnipeg, meanwhile, beat Vancouver 6–2 at home Thursday and had Friday and Saturday without a game. The Jets have won 2 straight while scoring 11 goals, giving me some improving offensive form to go with the rest advantage. They can prepare at home while Tampa has to change cities between games.

At my original +125, the break-even win rate is approximately 44.4%. I believe Winnipeg’s home ice, recovery time and preparation advantage make that underdog price worth taking. I’m looking for the Jets to make Tampa work throughout the game and capitalize as the night progresses. Take Winnipeg full-game moneyline, including overtime and shootout.
