This is a matchup of NHL basement dwellers, but hey, someone still has to win the game. I'm going to put the "dead cat bounce" theory to the test, as the Blue Jackets welcome in a new head coach in Rick Bowness. Columbus also hasn't been completely terrible recently, picking up points in six of their last 10 games (5-4-1). The Jackets will host a Flames side that say struggled mightily on the road, going just 7-15-2. They're also just 1-4 SU across the last five games.
In terms of the actual gameplay itself, I believe Columbus has the two best skaters in this game in Zach Werenski (16G, 31A) and Kirill Marchenko (16G, 21A). This is a sneakily potent offense, that over the last 10 games is third in xG/60 minutes (3.68) and fourth in high-danger SOG (43). Columbus has its issues defensively, but with their home crowd behind them, I think they'll do enough to stifle this Calgary offense that's 31st in G/60 minutes (2.51) and dead last in both shooting% (8.62%) and on the power play (13.57%).
