The PLAY: Atlanta Hawks -135
2% Atlanta ML (7:40 ET): Bad spot for the Celtics here, playing on the second night of a back to back. They're basically locked into the #2 seed in the Eastern Conference after easily defeating Charlotte on Sunday, 114-99 as 2.5-point underdogs. There, they were able to take advantage of a Hornets team that was on the second night of back to back (after blowing a 2H lead in a key game against Philadelphia, no less).
There was some question as to whether or not Jayson Tatum was going to suit up Sunday. He ended up playing and scored 32 points, the most since his return from injury. With not much at stake here, I think there's a good chance Tatum may sit tonight. Jaylen Brown (Achilles) is also out. Payton Pritchard is certainly due for some regression after scoring 64 points in the L2 games.
So this all sets up for a play on the Hawks, who have won 12 in a row at home and have revenge for a loss in Boston this past Friday. The Hawks closed +5 and that was with Tatum playing for Boston. They lost 109-102, but were up at the half. Atlanta also needs this game more than Boston does. The Hawks are currently sixth in the Eastern Conference, but just one-half game ahead of Philadelphia (who they own the tiebreaker against). Finishing top six is obviously a huge priority because you avoid the Play-in Tournament. 2% Atlanta ML (Play to -140)
