| MLB | (911) Washington Nationals at (912) New York Mets: F5 Spread | 7:10pm EDT - Apr 29/2026 |
The PLAY: F5 Washington Nationals +0.5 (-123) Cade Cavalli (RHP), David Peterson (LHP) Must Start
The Nationals were shut out yesterday, 8-0, but should bounce back tonight against embattled Mets starting pitcher David Peterson. Peterson had been taken out of the Mets' rotation after allowing 15 runs across his L3 starts. He was fairly effective in two bullpen appearances, but I'm still not ready to trust him back in a starting role, especially here against a Nats' lineup that - despite being blanked last night - has scored the fourth most runs in all of baseball.
The Mets have scored the second fewest runs in all of baseball. So it's hard for me to see a repeat of last night, especially with Washington having the starting pitching edge here. While it's true the Nationals are 0-5 in Cade Cavalli's last five starts, three of those five games weren't decided until extra innings. Cavalli has allowed 2 ER or fewer in all but one start this year. So let's leave the Nats' bullpen out of the equation and back the road team on the F5 run line. All we need is for them to be tied after five innings, but there's a good chance - with this starting pitching matchup - they'll be ahead.

After spending the previous decade at Covers Experts, Bryan Power has wasted little time establishing himself. A consistent winner since first emerging on the scene back in 2011, Power didn't have a single losing calendar year in his first decade as a pro handicapper! In April & May of this year (2022), he went on an amazing 154-99-2 (+$41,322) with all plays!
Power handicaps football (both NFL and college), basketball (NBA and college), MLB, Soccer (most major European leagues), and the UFC. He uses a personal set of power ratings, combined with situational handicapping, to make his selections. Multiple bets per day across multiple sports are the norm.
