Shea Langeliers and Nick Kurtz draw most of the attention at the top of the A's lineup, but Zack Gelof is quietly having a very strong season in Sacramento. Gelof is hitting .321 with a .351 on-base percentage at home this season, and eight of his 11 home runs have come at Sutter Health Park. Gelof has hit a home run in each of the last two games, and he should have a favorable matchup on Thursday. Hitting conditions will be fantastic once again in central California with warm temperatures and a moderate breeze blowing straight out to center field. The Angels have not officially named a starter for tonight's contest, but José Soriano is expected to get the ball. Soriano got off to a great start this season, but walks have been a major issue over the last month. Over his last six starts, Soriano has issued a total of 22 walks over his last 32.2 innings pitched. Home runs have also been an issue as Soriano has allowed a total of four home runs across his last four starts. Gelof is hitting .351 with a .403 on-base percentage so far in the month of June. Gelof is riding a 21-game hitting streak and he has scored a run in ten-straight games. Gelof has cleared this 1.5 hits + runs + RBI prop 18 times in his last 21 games.

This is a FREE PLAY on the UNDER Angels/A's.
With a couple of quality starters going head-to-head to open up this series, I believe that the "under" is worth a "second look" on Thursday night.
The Angels are only 13-25 on the road, but they hand the ball to Jose Soriano (8-4, 2.79 ERA), who bounced back in his last outing vs. the Rays, going five scoreless before getting hit by a ball and removed for cautionary measures. Soriano owns a sharp 92:42 K:BB over 15 outings this season.
He'll be opposed by Gage Jump (2-1, 3.09 ERA), who gave up three runs over six innings in a no-decision vs. the Rockies on Friday. Over four starts he owns a 19:6 K:BB.
We have another really high total here at the A's, but now it's a little too high in my opinion, with these starters set to battle into the latter frames in my opinion.
