Now back home at Ashton Gate - where the club recorded its most recent victory (1-0 over Watford on 9/19) - the Robins should take all three points from this match.
Blackburn’s 2026/27 season did not get off to the best of starts with only one win in the first six Championship matches and they were also eliminated from the EFL Cup by Sheffield United on 8/25. Therefore, it’s been a pretty shocking turn to see them go unbeaten in the last three, including a 3-1 win over Millwall. Strangely, Blackburn has fared well when stepping up in class this season. They drew with Wolves in the opening matchweek, then defeated promotion hopefuls Middlesbrough. But most of the positive results for Rovers have come at home. They remain winless on the road with three draws and a loss to lowly Preston North End (back on 9/5).
I know that needing a win seems a little risky here, given Bristol City haven’t scored more than once in over a month while Blackburn have scored a total of 14 goals in nine league matches. However, Rovers’ 9.8 xG (expected goals) this season shows they’ve been a little fortunate. They’ve also managed just one clean sheet this entire season.
